Dr. Rama Krushna Sabat is an associate professor in the School of Minerals, Metallurgical, and Materials Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India. He obtained his Ph.D. in Materials Engineering from the Indian Institute of Science Bangalore in 2015, specializing in microstructure and texture evolution in magnesium alloys. Prior to joining IIT Bhubaneswar, he served as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Waterloo, Canada, and IISc Bangalore. His research expertise includes microstructure–texture–mechanical property correlation in light metals and alloys, crystal plasticity finite element modeling, rolling, forging, extrusion, corrosion and mechanical testing, electron microscopy, XRD analysis, artificial intelligence applications in materials engineering, air dispersion modeling, GIS mapping, and environmental studies. Dr. Sabat has published more than 60 research papers in reputed international journals such as Acta Materialia, Philosophical Magazine, Materials Science and Engineering A, Journal of Alloys and Compounds, and Metallurgical and Materials Transactions A. His research contributions focus on magnesium alloys, titanium alloys, aluminum alloys, high-entropy alloys, thermoelectric materials, and advanced manufacturing processes. He has also undertaken several industrial consultancy and environmental auditing projects related to pollution control, hazardous waste management, fly ash pond stability, no increase in pollution load (NIPL) studies, and failure analysis for major industries.
