About us

The School of Minerals, Metallurgical and Materials Engineering (SMMME), established in 2012, represents a unique initiative among premier institutes where the fields of minerals, metals, and materials converge. SMMME offers a comprehensive range of academic programs, including B.Tech., Dual Degree, M.Tech., Master of Science (by Research), and Ph.D. in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering. We also provide an innovative blended M.Tech. program in Advanced Maintenance Technology, developed in collaboration with other schools to meet industry needs.

Our alumni are successfully placed in esteemed research laboratories, industries, and academic institutions around the globe. Students benefit from a faculty team specializing in diverse research areas such as mineral processing, advanced metallurgical techniques, materials characterization, physical and mechanical metallurgy of advanced materials, computational techniques, process control and automation, machine learning, and materials for energy conversion and storage, including photovoltaics and thermoelectrics.

The curriculum is thoughtfully designed to empower students with both fundamental concepts and cutting-edge knowledge, ensuring they are well-prepared to meet the challenges of metallurgical engineering and materials science. We encourage prospective students and faculty members to explore our school’s website for more details.
